Rebel Girls Black History Month Picks

February is Black History Month, a time to honor Black people from all periods of U.S. history. Diversity and inclusion are very important to us at Yoto, and we are proud to host titles from diverse authors and narrators, as well as fictional and non-fictional diverse stories, which reflect the multicultural world around us.

We believe that the best way to introduce your child to the wider world is through the art of wondrous storytelling! By feeding their curiosity and enriching their imaginations, and by listening to tales from the furthest reaches of our globe. Stories and songs have been used for generations to preserve the legacy and lessons of leaders. In the spirit of uplifting Black voices, we have invited our friends at Rebel Girls to choose their top three cards by Black authors/musicians. Check them out below!

Songs from the Playground by Jazzy Ash
